About Music Ed Mentor
An experienced K8 music educator, Elisa Janson Jones specializes in helping music educators build, manage, and grow thriving school music programs and have long and happy careers. She holds a bachelor of music from Brigham Young University and a master of business administration from Western Governors University.
She is pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Instructional Design at Northcentral University.
Elisa uses her vast and diverse skillset to help nonprofits, businesses, and music educators around the world. She serves as conductor of her local community band, a columnist for SBO Magazine, and maintains a private lesson studio. Elisa is an internationally-recognized speaker, and has presented at national, state, and local conferences as well. She is the host and producer of the Music Ed Mentor Podcast, founder of the International Music Education Summit, author of The Music Educator’s Guide to Thrive and The Music Booster Manual.
An avid horn player and vocalist, she has recently taken up ukulele and has even built her own. In addition to the many collegiate ensembles to her credit, she has performed with the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Spirit Band, the Utah Premier Brass, the Utah Valley Symphony, and the Grand Junction Centennial Band. She lives in Grand Junction, Colorado with her husband, three children, and thousands of miles of trails that she loves to explore and share on her blog, trails365.com.
